1-15-11 WW's Meeting

Well in 1 month off weight watchers I am down 3.8 pounds.  This week I had a loss of 1.6. Truthfully speaking, not enough lost. But at least I didn't gain.

Today at the meeting we discussed eating more power foods. Power foods are those foods that take longer to digest and give you more bang for your buck on  the calorie side of things. I shared how I made beef and broccoli stir-fry from scratch. It was a 5 point serving meal, however, I tripled the amount of broccoli (power food) which made the point value even lower. The goal this week is to bulk up meals with power foods.

1-14-11 Food Journal

I actually am doing this a day late because I woke up super irritable yesterday, and I didn't feel like blogging. All I really wanted yesterday was to sit and eat doughnuts, seriously. In my mind that is what would have helped me be happy. Truthfully, it had nothing to do with the  actual doughnut, I really think it was just the idea of rebelling against myself.

I attribute my bad mood to the fact that I was just exhausted.  The last 2 weeks have been draining. Wes has been working a ton, and I have had sick kids home, while I was sick myself. Add to it that I started back to school last week and the it is yucky outside and that is a recipe for disaster. On the bright side I did well with my food yesterday!

8- two slices of ham, orange
11- peppermint/dandelion tea, hard boiled egg
12- cottage cheese mixed with yogurt
2- apple, fiber one bar
3.5- 3 pieces of bread and some butter
My suger dropped really low, because I ate the fiber one bar without a protien. So in order to get it back up quickly I had to eat white bread...boo.

7- beef and broccoli stir-fry and brown rice
9- Wes and Gracie went for a treat run and I really tried to resist but, I ended up eating a butterfinger.

Therapy with Dr. Anderson

Today I saw Dr. Anderson. We discussed my issue with food. I have a terrible relationship with it, I treat it as a lower priority, I eat when I feel like it, and by that time I am so hungry I overeat. So Dr. Anderson gave me homework. I am setting my alarms for 7 am, 10 am, 1 pm, 4 pm and 7 pm. Those are my appointments to eat. Just the same way you make appointments to go to the Doctor or go on a date. Food is to be come such a priority that I do it, I don't think about it. I eat food so that I have energy and so that my body can be fueled...PERIOD. No emotions involved.

He asked asked me to journal what I eat when I eat, and other times in between when I feel hungry. I am to journal what triggered my hunger. Although I am also keeping track with my weight watchers, I plan to do it on my blog as well.
